Eating out of the freezer party

As promised in an earlier post, I recruited some friends to help me empty the freezer and the cupboard of food. The adventurous eaters came Friday night to contribute their stomachs to the quest.

Our menu:

  • Lasagna (aka mystery casserole from the bottom of the deep freeze)
  • Green bean casserole
  • Carrot souffle
  • Jello
  • Peaches
  • Rolls
  • Soup (made up of frozen meat and vegetables from the freezer and canned tomatoes)
  • Cucumbers and tomatoes (a garden contribution)
  • Gingersnaps, chocolate chip cookies, monster cookies, lime nut buttons (you’d think I had some kind of cookie obsession to find all of these in the freezer)
  • Cupcakes
  • Banket (Dutch pastry)
  • Coconut cream pie

We had enough food for 2 or 3 parties.

As I looked around the table over our odd combination of food I realized once again how blessed I am to have friends like these and how much I will miss them this coming year.

Empty freezer!

Thank you, dear friends, for helping me empty the freezer and finish the canned goods.
